Obit: Christine Kamps, a lifelong resident of Phlox, died Tuesday at Eastview Manor. She was 88 years old.

Mrs. Kamps was born Feb. 24, 1902 in Grimms, a daughter of the late John and Caroline Hayek. She married Walter Kamps April 21, 1925 in Phlox. He preceded her in death.

Mrs. Kamps was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox and a charter member of St. Anne Society.

Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Floyd (Audrey) Chrudimsky, Phlox; three brothers, Jerome and Clarence "Sam", both of Antigo, and Eugene, Phlox; 19 grandchildren and 34 great grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by six sisters and six brothers.

Services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Friday at St. Joseph Catholic Church. Rev. Philip Dinh-Van-Thiep will officiate with burial in the parish cemetery.

Friends may call Thursday between 3:30 and 8 p.m. at the McCandless-Zobel and Bradley Funeral Home where a wake service will begin at 7:30 p.m.
