Obit: Richard J. Hayek, a Langlade County native, died in Minneapolis Thursday. He was 79 years old.

Mr. Hayek was born on May 20, 1920 in the town of Norwood, a son of the late Wenzel and Clara Hayek. He married Constance Weyenberg of Mattoon on Jan. 29, 1945, at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Phlox. She survives.

He served in the armed forces during World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Lee and Paul, and six grandchildren, all of Minnesota.

Also, surviving are six sisters, Idell Price, North Fond Du Lac, Christine Keen, Pearson, Dorothy Rank, Marie Now and Caroline Verhasselt, all of Antigo, and Helen Brooks, Kaukauna; and a brother, Clarence Hayek, Schofield.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Rose Schultz, and a brother, Wenzel Hayek Jr.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday morning in Minneapolis.
